On the third day of Christmas, the Cosmos gave their fans:
-Three different kits
-Two TV deals,
-And a new stadium in Belmont!
“Mr Giovanni Savarese, can you please hand over, the glorious jersey of the New York Cosmos, to Raul.”
These were the recent words of soccer personality Fernando Fiore. He spoke these words last Tuesday during the Raul press conference. While Fiore has a soft spot for the Cosmos in his heart, many would still refer to the Cosmos kit as glorious.
The shirt that bears that historic badge has undergone so many transformations over the years dating back to 1971. Ever since the reboot of the Cosmos in 2013 there have simply been two variations of the kit, that being a home white and an away green kit. Today of course we see several clubs around the world introducing a third kit to their rotation.
During last year’s off season we saw a picture of a blue kit with yellow sleeves that caught the eyes of many fans (pictured above). It was reported that the pictured kit was to be a training kit only. However based on fan response to that kit, in 2015, it might just be time for the Cosmos to introduce a third kit similar to that training kit and give their fans a modern day variation of the team’s glorious jersey.
