Today the New York Cosmos announced the signing of 23 year old national player Andres Flores.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Cosmos,” an excited Flores explained. “It’s a championship-winning squad with a lot of quality players, but I’m here to try and help the team and ready for a new challenge.”
The young Central American forward enjoyed some time on the Argentinean River Plate youth program from 2006 thru 2008 before moving to Salvadroean first division side Isidro Metapan. He has been dubbed the “Salvadorean Messi” in his native El Salvador.
Since 2008 he had made 31 appearances for the senior El Salvadorean national team. The young forward brings much needed speed to the NY Cosmos as well as huge potential in the NASL.
Flores has also spent some time via loan, with the Dutch side Viborg FF.
