While we all hope that the New York Cosmos can win the 2014 Fall NASL season, we also have to be mindful that should they not be able to win the fall, they need to be able to finish in the top two spots in combined points over both seasons. Currently the NASL website does not display those stats. Here is a quick graphic below that gives you that for the entire league. The Cosmos currently sit in third place when you combined both seasons points. Keep in mind Minnesota would not factor into things since they already clinched a post season birth with the spring championship. The Cosmos would just barely get in with the second spot via points.
Something to ponder in Cosmos Country!
