As many Cosmos fans have come to expect, the Five Points section of Hofstra University is looking to get bigger and louder for the upcoming 2014 season. There is no question that La Banda Del Cosmos and The Borough Boys did a sensational job in causing a ruckus at Hofstra in 2013. And who can forget the unforgettable mess that we made in Atlanta during the Soccer Bowl. I still remember the look on the young kids face that were on the field as well as the fans in the seats when we unleashed hell (lmao)
2014 leads us to further enhance the Five Points and while the objective of the Five Points remains the same – raise awareness to and support the NY Cosmos – a new path must be carved out of the Five Points. That path has to do with Long Island. To date, the Cosmos plans continue to be to construct a soccer specific stadium on the border of Queens and Long Island just south of Belmont Park. In actuality, the proposed site sits partially in Queens and partially in Long Island. Just last week the Cosmos confirmed that the plans are still on hold subject to approval from the state. They have not scrapped those plans and the only thing that has changed is that with the approval taking so long, construction likely will not be completed until 2016 as opposed to being completed in 2015. We already know of the Borough Boys supporters group that primarily is based of fans from the five boroughs . Now if you are from Long Island, isn’t it time that you have a supporters group to call your own in addition to part of the new stadium?
ENTER THE CROSS ISLAND CREW
The group’s message is simple. Founded in 2012 the Cross Island Crew is a NY Cosmos supporters group based primarily on Long Island. What better message for the Soccer fans in Long Island looking to support a local soccer team. Now let’s not be mistaken, the group is open to all fans and is no way exclusive to Long Island soccer fans. Already the Cross Island Crew has met several times during this off season and is extremely excited about standing along side the Borough Boys and La Banda Del Cosmos in 2014 and rooting on the Cosmos.

In the near future I plan on lending this site to support the Cross Island Crew and aid their efforts in promoting the Cosmos in Long Island. Be on the lookout for them in 2014!
