Now that the 2013 NASL Fall regular season has come to an end we can look back at some numbers to really validate what the NY Cosmos have accomplished this year.
We already know that they are At the top of the NASL table but here are some other interesting facts.
– Some comments on the above. Not only has Marcos Senna come to the Cosmos to be a leader on and off the field to this team but he has put his share of goals in too and shares the lead for goals with Diomar Diaz.
-It’s a little ironic that Henry Lopez who has only played 135 minutes this season has 2 goals to his credit. Similar things can be said for Alessandro Noselli who has only played 375 minutes (out of a possible 1260). This points to how deep the Cosmos really are – they will score with their starters and they will score with their bench!
Next, a couple graphics that I really like. The Cosmos have been one of the top teams in home attendance all year. I honestly thought that they would finish behind San Antonio for total average home attendance but they managed to hold onto first.
But what really speaks volumes are the average away attendance figures. The numbers show the Cosmos are tops in this as well. For all the naysayers out there who have put down the Cosmos, numbers such as these tell you that fans around the league come out to watch the Cosmos. I would be intrigued to see how these stats look next year when there are new teams into the league.
Finally, I will leave with some final figures, just because I had them. Keeping these numbers help you look within the beautiful game a little bit more. With that said, what stats would you like to see on here in 2014. Can’t wait to see more numbers next year! Let’s just hope they are mostly in the Cosmos favor!
